A new year starts, and a new beginning as fresh, yet experienced, souls find their way into a valley, all drawn by some unknown desire or force. A few find their way onto a plot of land with stone ruins, overgrown with pine trees, that they feel, when cleared, could make a well and proper town someday. They decided to name their future town "Conord's Anvil" after a legendary Blacksmith who, it was said, held together a band of adventures against an impossible onslaught of Lizard Folk.
Others who arrived in the valley made their way into the wilderness in search of their future. Dronoc heads into the mountains looking for what, only the gods know, but on his journey he encountered a goblin with a fishing rod, and no water in sight. They seemed to have startled each other as the goblin dropped his rod and Dronoc brandished his blade. Dronoc's first instinct was to take the fishing rod for his own, and the goblin was more than willing to let him, however once Dronoc saw the goblin meant no harm, he let him pick up the rod and go on his way, but Dronoc tried to follow
Varren decided to see what creatures he could find in the valley. He ended up finding more than he bargained for when he was bit by a rather large lizard. As he felt the poison coursing through his veins, he made a last ditch effort to try and influence the creature to... mourn his courpse, it seems, because Varren died the next second.... Varren woke up at night feeling like death itself, with a headache that was worse than even the latest nights with a good Shine.
